At a concert of Baroque splendour, we will hear the Coronation Anthem, written for the coronations of British kings and queens. George Friedrich Handel will be in the company of his continental predecessor Janez Krstnik Dolar, one of the most important Slovenian Baroque composers. We remember him today above all for his sacred works, some of which incorporate elements of folk music. His Bergamasco Mass is named after a dance tune from northern Italy.
