An evening of women’s vocal art and subtle instrumental dialogues will feature a diverse range of musical works under the direction of Stephen Layton: Rheinberger’s gentle harmonies, Brahms’s enchanting songs, Fauré’s impressive melodies and Holst’s ancient Indian hymns. The concert will be enriched with the freshness of contemporary music, with two new works by Slovenian composers of the younger generation: a composition by Klara Mlakar for harp and women’s choir, and a work by Tilen Slakan for women’s choir, strings, harp and two horns.
