The programme selection of conductor and composer Lorenzo Donati represents a bridge between Europe’s East and West, which is unfortunately under serious threat today. Although Stravinsky came from an Orthodox Christian tradition, he was greatly inspired by his contact with Mozart’s Mass arrangements. We are offered a journey through Europe in words and music in Donati’s Orient Express, based on a text by Oscar Wilde, which was created as a project of connecting nations.
