New Music Forum 2026: In-between
Program
Farnaz Modarresifar (santur)
Naoko Kikuchi (koto)
Members of the New Music Forum Ensemble
The concert »In-Between« explores music at the intersection of Japanese and Iranian influences. Rather than seeking to define what is authentically Japanese or Iranian, the curators turn their attention to the ways these musical cultures encounter and negotiate their relationship with Western Europe. It is in the space between these different worlds that something new and unexpected can emerge.
