Grandiosely / SMS 2
Programme
Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra
Pierre Bleuse, conductor
Marie-Ange Nguci, piano
The orchestra plays just a single chord and already the piano passages, chords, trills and other devilry pour in from the pen of a genius who pushed the limits of the possible with each new composition, especially the piano concertos, and filled many composers with awe. Among them was probably Mahler, who alluded to Beethoven’s infamous fate motif at the very beginning of his own Fifth Symphony.
Let’s listen to the giant steps of music history!
