Uroš Krek was one of the most renowned Slovenian composers of the twentieth century. In addition to his extensive opus for strings, his contribution to choral music is also extraordinary. Although very demanding for performers, the musical language of these works never leaves the listener unmoved. Krek’s music expresses a cosmopolitan attitude associated with folk motifs. The intertwining of his compositions with works by two composers from the turn of the twentieth century and contemporary Slovenian composers should shed further light on his greatness.
