One could say that Mozart’s life was torn between the Earth and the Heavens. Similarly, his music, whether a symphony, a concerto, an opera or a sacred work, raises us to unimaginable heights, close to the divine. The great Mass in C minor was composed by Wolfgang when he moved to Vienna and married Constanze. The first performance took place in Salzburg, where his wife sang the demanding soprano part.
